We were contracted for the demolition of a steel frame building from a vacant industrial site in Southeast Pennsylvania. First, the building was stripped of transite roofing and siding, the steel frame was selectively trimmed and cut with torches to weaken the structure enough that it could be tripped and pulled to the ground using two 100,000 pound excavators that were attached to the building with ¾” 100 foot long steel cables. Once on the ground the remainder of the steel frame was dismantled and downsized with excavator shears and recycled.
